Harvest report 2021
The 2021 harvest year was characterized by very unstable weather and less than optimal harvesting conditions and threshing days. A lot of stored grain made it difficult for contractors and farmers in the region. The crops were also very straw-rich. A stark contrast to the previous year’s harvest. This was an advantage for us, as we were able to test and optimize our Harvestbooster concept under these conditions.
With the experience from the previous year, we started the 2021 harvest with our combine harvesters equipped with Harvestbooster components.
The difficult conditions allowed us to gain further experience and draw conclusions from the results. We were thus able to gain valuable insights into all Harvestbooster parts. We found that the correct positioning of the parts is particularly important. We were able to pay particular attention to the insertion bar during the numerous harvest breaks. We used the time to optimize the slide-in bar and prepare it for the next harvesting operation. Thanks to the optimization, we subsequently found that the bar was even more effective under extreme conditions, and it proved during the 2021 harvest that we are on the right track.
We have also gained certainty regarding installation recommendations for various combine harvester models through the experience of the last harvest. The corresponding installation instructions show how to retrofit our Harvestbooster set.
Our conclusion:
In conclusion, we can say that the 2021 harvest was the acid test for Zang’s Harvestbooster. Very valuable insights were gained in detail, which led to another improved effect, which has already proven itself in the second half of the 2021 harvest. In addition, model-specific characteristics have been identified, allowing the correct placement of parts to be determined even better. Installation errors were identified and are being corrected. There was also an exchange of experiences with other thresher drivers who were already using our parts. As much of the feedback was very positive, we were encouraged to continue with our concept.
